Lucy worked with the nursery children and staff towards the The Story Tree (2014) – a new mosaic mural for the Nursery Outdoor Play Area which incorporated the stories and characters the children invented, sketched or crafted in mosaic tiles themselves.

Meet the artist: Visitors to the 9th Colony of Artists at Abbeyhill Primary School were able to meet Lucy while she was demonstrating the art of Viking knit jewellery on site at the Nursery Outdoor Play Area. This was also an exclusive opportunity to purchase some of the artist’s own best selling Viking knit bracelets and accessories from her own Styrka Silver Scotland collection with some of the proceeds supporting the school.

Acknowledgements: Lucy’s artist residency at Abbeyhill Primary School throughout 2014 was supported by a City Centre Neighbourhood Partnership Community Grant | Abbeyhill Primary School and Abbeyhill Primary School Parent Council.
