As one of the artists-in-residence at the school, Jasmin worked with pupils in Primary 2 throughout June 2014. Using digital cameras and an orange ribbon as a prop the children explored the immediate environment of the school, the wild life garden, the swimming pool and the art room focussing on texture, colour, pattern and light. A group of Primary 2 pupils even took the bright orange ribbon for a walk to and around the grand interior of local parish church while their peers were hard at work rehearsing for the end of year concert there.
Only the best works were selected from a large body of photographs by each individual pupil for the Orange Ribbon (2014) room-size installation which premiered at the 9th Colony of Artists in September 2014 showing alongside a special showcase from the artist’s own project Orange Ribbon (2012-ongoing).
